This blog is in the pre-launch stage

I finally have my theme tweaked how I want it. Everything is pretty much good to go, but I don’t consider this blog launched yet. As you can see, in all of the posts I have left the links written in plain text. I will turn those links on and start linking out to the world once I feel confident that the blog is ready for it. I have a couple of posts I will send to a few bloggers as guest posts, so hopefully they will get picked up.

I’m still in the process of tweaking everything and bringing it all up to scratch. I’m quite excited about “going live” and hope that I can start putting what the pro bloggers say to the test.

Is there room for me in the blogosphere? I’d like to think there is. Making money online would be a great achievement, but it’s going to be a long, hard slog.

It’s been a real headache working full time and getting this blog to where it is now. What happens next is going to be interesting.

A bit about Angel

Who is Angel?

I’m just a regular English kid, 24 years old, living and working as a journalist in Southern Thailand. Life is pretty sweet when you spend your days on a tropical island, but living in this country is never going to make me rich; I need an extra income.

A blogger with a mission

I spend a lot of time in my room on the Internet. There are more make money online websites than you could ever count. All these websites break it down like we can all make money online, so I’ve made it my goal to become as close to a pro blogger as I can. I’m going to put what the money making websites tell us to the test.

Within one year I want this blog to be turning in four figure Adsense checks… and the rest. The money would really help me supplement my salary and would help send me on my way to Jakarta in twelve months. Here’s hoping.

As for me, I love to write. I enjoy reading Japanese literature and watching Japanese cartoons. My favorite series would have to be Evangelion. I’m currently watching Death Note and am enjoying it immensely.

I love to go out and party, am big into drum ‘n’ bass music and my favorite singer/songwriter is Nick Drake, may he rest in peace. I also love Bjork.

How much is your blog worth?

Desi wrote a post this week about how much his blog had improved. There is a button available at Business Opportunities that uses Technorati stats to evaluate how much a blog is worth. In less than eight months Desi’s blog’s value has risen from $2258.16 to $142,828.62. That’s a hefty increase for such a short time period.

I entered my blog in and do you know how much it is worth? $1,129.08. I’ve got a long way to go before I can call myself a pro blogger, but I plan to be making money online within one year so I will use this as a reference point, as Desi did, to show my readers how far I can go. The value of a blog, according to this method, does not translate into real money, but it does give an indication of a blog’s status.

www.johnchow.com is worth $2,918,107.26. That pesky John Chow is always a step ahead of everyone else. He’s making more money online than most people, but part of the way he is making money online is by telling us how to make money online. I see no reason why I can’t do what he says and push my blog’s value up into the hundreds of thousands.

Pro Blogger is worth even more than John Chow’s blog - $4,536,643.44 to be exact. Wow! I want a piece of that action.

Other blogs of note include www.cashquests.com, valued at $79,600.14, www.pureblogging.com, valued at $158,635.74 and the mad cow (John Chow’s nemesis), valued at $76,777.44.

If they can do it, then so can I. I am going to make money online, I am going to make money from blogging, and I am going to do it by doing what the real pro bloggers tell me to do. If I don’t, then what else are they for, other than gloating about their Adsense payouts?

Let’s do this.
