Win an invite to Pownce

They say all good things come in threes, but I’m keener on twos. So, if my Joost TV contest doesn’t take your fancy, then how about an invite to Pownce? John Cow hooked me up with my invite, and now I have six to give away. If you want an invite, then as with my Joost contest, link to this blog post in one of your blog posts.

You don’t have to devote a whole post to me, just a paragraph will do. Let me know you’ve done it by leaving a comment on this post. I’ll keep this contest open until six people have got their Pownce invites.

For those of you who don’t know what Pownce is, here’s the description from the homepage:

Pownce is a way to send messages, files, links, and events to your friends. You’ll create a network of the people you know and then you can share stuff with all of them, just a few of them, or even just one other person really fast.

At least to start, we’re only opening up the site to a few people who can invite their friends. Soon, we’ll let some more people in. Enter your email to get in on one of the next rounds of invites.

Sounds pretty cool, right? So, want to be the first in line to try out Pownce? Link me up and I’ll do the rest.

Win invites to Joost TV in Angel’s first contest

It seems that one of the most effective ways of building up the readership of a blog is to offer contests. I think John Chow has a competition to win a copy of The Four-Hour Workweek every day. So this is me, offering my first contest to the few readers I have acquired at the moment. And what’s the prize? Well, I’m going to start out small. I’m offering invites to Joost TV.

What is Joost TV? you may be wondering. Well, it’s the future of television programming. It’s a way of watching TV on the internet that is way ahead of any other software or torrent service. With Joost TV you can pick and choose from a variety of television channels and watch them at your leisure… instantly.

Being online, there are, of course, a range of Internet-ready features, such as chat, forums and searching. Joost TV is particularly useful for people who don’t want to pay over-the-top cable prices. You don’t even need a TV as everything is right there on your computer, from MTV to a channel dedicated to Transformers.

Joost TV is made by the same people behind Kazaa and Skype, so you know it is going to be a success. Once you’ve tried using it you’ll be able to see the potential that Joost TV has.

To win yourself an invite, all I want is a link back to this blog post in one of your blog posts. You don’t have to dedicate a whole post to this contest, but if you could mention in a paragraph that I am giving away invites to Joost and include a link then I’ll hook you up.

Once you’ve done that then drop me a comment here and I’ll do the rest. Easy. Everyone who enters will be a winner. Joost is currently in the beta stages and is only available with an invitation.

Dutchman demands refund from Indian hookers

I had to laugh when I read this. Dutch tourist C Vender Hee arrived in India on July 12 and within a couple of hours he’d found himself three hookers and was escorting them back to his hotel for a late-night romp. The hotel manager took one look at the man and his sex kittens and told him they wouldn’t be allowed in.

The prostitutes, understandably irate, demanded the Dutch sex tourist pay them or else they’d cause a scene. He paid them and went up to bed without any of the Indian hookers. The next day he went to the local police station to report the Indian sex workers and get his money back! How’s that for cheek?! The police were dumbfounded and didn’t know what to do with this brazen Dutchman.

Hee told police that he is a sex maniac and he left India for Bangkok. Bangkok, as you may know, has a thriving sex industry where, rumor has it, they let the girls into the hotels. Hee didn’t get his money back – poor brut!

I had no idea that India was a preferred destination for sex tourists. Whatever happened to going somewhere because you want to see the place? Maybe this is what the future of tourism will be. If you’ve read the novel Platform then you might agree.
