Sunday night’s money-making shout-outs
It’s Sunday and it’s been a long weekend for me. I haven’t been able to get nearly as many blogging-related tasks done as I would have hoped because I haven’t been home for most of this weekend. I’ve had a bunch of writing assignments and social engagements to keep me busy and so my blogging has suffered. There’s still time for some Sunday shout-outs though to the people who have made a difference to my making money blogging this week.
My first shout-out goes to Kyle because I somehow ended up entering a contest on his blog in which he promised to give three people $10 if he didn’t achieve 200 unique hits on a certain day. Sadly for Kyle, he didn’t get the required number of visitors, but he was actually decent enough to send me $10. Free money is always great, no matter how little.
Next shout-out goes to Adam over at Conversion Matters. He called me out on a couple of issues with my fonts and nav bar and offered some advice, all of which I took on board and then made a few changes to my code, learning some valuable CSS extras in the process. The font of my titles is now uniform with the posts, and my nav bar is jazzed up to make it stand out, and also to drive people to my affiliate landing page in order to boost the money this blog brings in. And I’m a sucker for pink font, what can I say?
I’ve got to give a shout to Kumiko because this week there are a bunch of things that she’s been doing or writing about relating to making money blogging that I’ve learned from and used for myself. One useful trick she taught this week was how to make a url like http://worldofangel.com/go redirect to http://worldofangel.com/how-to-make-money-blogging/. This is a kickass tactic that can be used to hide affiliate links and removes the “.php” from a redirect, thus increasing potential to make money online. You can read about it here. Kumiko’s landing page work and her aggressive ad campaign on John Cow’s blog also gained her about 100 RSS subscribers. There’s something to be learned from that.
Courtney Tuttle gets a shout for his awesome post on landing pages. There have been a few posts about this topic recently, but Court’s one stands out because it’s informative and thorough. I recommend everybody give it read as it’s a powerful tactic for making money.
My final shout goes out to Luciano Pavarotti, who sadly died this week at the age of 71. Nothing to do with making money and not even a blogger, but noteworthy nonetheless. We’ll miss ya, big guy.

Digg it for goodness sake! Stumble your heart out!

Hey nice blog you have running, but may I suggest something?
You will want to get a contact me form plug-in because it’s a little annoying if they have to reach you through commenting on here…sometime it’s off-topic too.

I also see that the Adsense on your site are irrelevant to the topic; displaying World of Warcraft materials…
Here is something you might want to take a look at:

Good luck!
Great stuff, the pink rocks!
I would have replied sooner but I’ve been busy building a new site.
Thanks for the shout, Angel. I’m glad I was able to help your bottom line this month!
Thanks for the mention! I’ve been hearing more and more about your site, it seems like it’s growing quite a bit. Well done!
