Taking on the pro bloggers and making them work for their money
Are you sick of all the John Chows, Pro Bloggers and Desi Babas making stacks of cash by telling you how to make stacks of cash? These guys make thousands of dollars, they establish cult followings, and they suck readers in by making Average Joe think that they are on his side doing everything for his benefit.
The pro bloggers out there play a smart game, but they are looking out for number one. So where does that leave you and me? I’m not a gifted coder, I’m not an especially talented writer, I’m not a dot com mogul, and I have what some consider a girl’s name. So could I make money online? Me, a regular guy? According to John Chow and everyone else cashing in on the blogging phenomenon – yes I could. If it’s as straight forward as they say then 12 months from this date and I should be making four figures a month from this blog.
Perhaps I’ve set my goals too high, but when it comes to making money online, I want to have a crack at it. So I’m going to take everything the pro bloggers are telling the world and I’m going to put it to the test and see if all of this is within my reach.
If there’s a tactic, a method, a technique that the world’s top bloggers recommend, then I’m going to try it. I want to do what they do, and as they are providing a service, or so they say, I’m gong to take that service and rip it to shreds. If it works, I’ll stick with it; if it sucks, I’ll let them and you know.
Maybe I won’t become a pro blogger, but if there’s a piece of the pie with my name on it then I want to snap it up.
So this is Angel, signing off on July 11, 2007. 12 months to become a pro blogger or I want my money back!

Dude,
I stumbled upon your site from Technorati. I will be watching your “progress” and rooting for ya. I am also mighty curious whether the pro bloggers really know what they’re talking about.
As for me, I have a blog that’s NOT making money at all at http://streetsmartsukhumvit.multiply.com – dedicated to Sukhumvit, Bangkok’s longest road. It’s only a little over a month’s old but I am absolutely ADDICTED to it already – I can’t tear myself away from it~!! People keep telling me I should monetize it, especially considering all the hours I’ve spent for it… BUT it so happens that I am using Multiply, which is actually a networking service (so they don’t allow me to put ads there) – I like Multiply coz they let you have not just blog but also space for pics, reviews, events, VDOs, music and links. I didn’t really wanna blog about myself like oh just a gazillion other bloggers out there, so I thought well I should blog about something I know really well, something not too serious and something people might like.
Anyway, do you think I should move my site somewhere else so I can make money?
Perhaps I should wait and let the lab rat (YOU) make some progree first? Heh heh…
I’ll be watchin’ ya~!!!
Good Luck Pal …
I am not making any money either (not with adsense at least) but I have a feeling with enough interesting and fresh content you could drive lots of traffic to your site …. keep it rolling

I will not read the big “blogs about making money blogging” and read only a couple of the little one’s. I’ve never even clicked on Chow’s site. I think that anyone with half a brain can make a wee little bit of money blogging. To make mass amounts…. who knows, but I didn’t start so I can retire, but because I have things to say.
If I can apply for paid blogging sites and install codes and network, I’ll make some money, but not enough to make up for the time it takes if I wasn’t passionate about blogging.
Not different than any writer: you’ve got to write because you want to write, or you’re writing will suck so much that no one will want to read it a second time
Hi Angel,
well, the problem with problogger is that they are not very smart and their advice is not good when it comes to building a business.
besides, what does problogger know about finances, economy, personal development etc.
anyway, you might as well check out my website… http://www.freetomanifest.com …
